La seconda semitappa della seconda giornata di gara del Giro della Lunigiana prevedeva un duro arrivo in salita, in cima a Fosdinovo. Tutto lasciava intravedere una sfida tra i migliori scalatori del gruppo, ma a dare scacco matto ai favoriti di giornata ci hanno pensato un gruppo di attaccanti, evasi dal gruppo nei primi chilometri di corsa. Manuel Oioli alla fine è riuscito a prevalere sui compagni di avventura. Il piemontese ha tagliato solitario il traguardo col vantaggio di 6″ sul veneto Giovanni Longano e di 8″ sul trentino Maurizio Cetto.
